Chalk’s Seaplane Crash in Key West Harbor

A Gulfstream V aircraft took off from West Palm Beach on its first flight after maintenance on its landing gear. After take-off, the flight crew could not get the landing gear to retract. The crew attempted to return the airplane for a landing. When the power was reduced for landing, the wing spoilers inadvertently deployed causing the aircraft to crash. The $36 million dollar aircraft was completely destroyed.
